Decomposing and mapping different scales of land subsidence over Shanghai with X- and C-Band SAR data stacks

چکیده
Land subsidence can be observed with time-series of Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data. However, existing approaches only reveal signals that are multi-scale mixed, which is not conducive to the systematic analysis different mechanisms. A deformation signal decomposition (DSD) method based on spectral used decompose extracted by InSAR into three classes signals. They refer large-scale related geological settings, medium-scale caused more group excavation, and small-scale along linear infrastructures. TerraSAR-X datasets for Shanghai spanning April 2013 September 2020, Sentinel-1A January 2016 2020 in this study. The results were cross-verified between datasets, validated against levelling measurements. Subsidence mechanisms automatically decomposed, facilitates a targeted diagnosis land detailed was conducted jointly at scales surface displacement, conditions, major construction activities, It indicated activities leading cause subsidence, suggests local authorities wish mitigate may benefit from primarily considering process.

Land Subsidence Measurement with Sar Interferometric Data
The paper focuses on the measurement of land subsidence and, more generally, of land deformation phenomena using the differential interferometric SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technique (DInSAR). The paper begins with a concise description of the properties of the differential interferometric phase, which represents the information source for the estimation of the terrain deformation phenomena...
متن کاملDetecting Land Subsidence in Shanghai by PS-Networking SAR Interferometry
Existing studies have shown that satellite synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry has two apparent drawbacks, i.e., temporal decorrelation and atmospheric contamination, in the application of deformation mapping. It is however possible to improve deformation analysis by tracking some natural or man-made objects with steady radar reflectivity, i.e., permanent scatterers (PS), in the frame...
متن کاملMagnitude and Extent of Six Years of Land Subsidence in Shanghai Revealed by JERS-1 SAR Data 477 Magnitude and Extent of Six Years of Land Subsidence in Shanghai Revealed by JERS-1 SAR Data
Many provinces in China including Shanghai, Tianjin, Jiansu, Hubei, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Changzhou, Cangzhou, and Jianxing (Deng and Ju, 1994; Ding et al., 2005; Hu et al., 2004; Xue et al., 2005; Yang et al., 2005) are subsiding owing to rapid development and urbanization. The cause identified with these subsidence phenomena has been mainly due to excessive withdrawal of groundwater (Chai et al.,...
متن کاملLand Subsidence Monitoring with Differential SAR Interferometry
The potential of differential SAR interferometry for land subsidence monitoring is reported on. The principle of the technique and the approach to be used on a specific case are first presented. Then significant results using SAR data from the ERS satellites for various sites in Germany, Mexico, and Italy, representing fast (mlyear) to slow (mmlyear) deformation velocities, are discussed. The S...
متن کاملMulti-scale Analysis of C-band Sar Data for Land Use Mapping Issues
The availability of up-to-date and reliable land cover/use maps is of great importance for many earth science applications. Aim of this study was to systematically analyse the effect of spatial resolution of C-band SAR data on segmentation quality and land cover classification accuracy as well as to find robust SAR parameters for the detection of broad land cover classes (water, forest, urban a...
